An unusual sunset followed heavy rain, thunder and lightning.  What seemed unusual was how long it lasted and how deep the color contrasted against the darkness, all while lightning and thunder continued.  The photo seems to boost the brightness along the horizon.  In reality, the color was deeper than what you see.
