In an MLive poll, readers named Clark Lake as “Michigan’s Best Inland Lake in the Jackson area.” Clark Lake came in with “30.27% of the vote with Wamplers a runner up at 11.72%” Other lakes rated included Devils Lake, Portage Lake and Coldwater Lake, which aren’t in Jackson County.

Restaurants were mentioned in the story. Many Clark Lakers would say the lake has four. Two on the water–soon to open Eagle’s Nest and the Beach Bar. Close to the lake are Lucero’s and Clark Lake Golf Course’s restaurant.

Am certainly prejudiced, but in my travels think it should would rate top 5 in the US of A.
I Grew up here, Love the lakes, and the hometown feel, 71 years here in area, a detour living in Jackson for a decade or so, I liked living with few miles of my job. Plans are to stay for while longer, then head south and West for the winter months. ❤

I wonder if any other lake in the United States has the spirit Clark Lake has? Besides our great restaurants and golf course, I wonder if any other lake has two churches, its very own Foundation and Spirit Trail, published Clark Lake book, a dam and DamCam, Raft-O-Rama parade, Garden Angels, it’s very own Clark Lake 12K/5K Run, Crab Races, a beautiful welcome sign, inventors and entrepreneurs, two parks and a Community Center?

Has anyone noticed how many beautiful horses we have living here at Clark Lake? Not to mention the very large cow that resides on the Darling Farm near the corner of Jefferson and Hyde. Her name is Daisy and she shares her home with 3 rescued Mustangs and several other horses, goats, dogs and cats. Visitors to the Spirit Trail next to Doyles store and the Post Office can enjoy watching them as they go by. So much to do and see here at our beautiful lake.
