Longtime Clark Lake resident Katie Rensch passed away Monday, March 7.   During every one of her 95 years, she had a strong connection to Clark Lake.  The Rensch family vacationed at Clark Lake starting in 1898.  Their link to the lake grew stronger with the building of the family cottage in 1907 in the Eagle Point Cove.

Katie grew up in Toledo, worked there, but always spent quality time at Clark Lake.  She, and her sister Mary, renovated the family cottage and made it their permanent home in 1992.  Mary passed away in 2005.  Her other sister, Angela Ligibel, died in 2016

Katie loved the lake.  In recent years, if you ever asked her about winter weather, she would assure you that she looked forward to summer so she could swim everyday.

Katie Rensch had four nephews and nieces–Mike (Nancy) Ligibel, Ted (Pat) Ligibel, Angel (Jim) Dandar, and Beckey Ligibel.  She will be remember by many grand-nephews and nieces as well as Eagle Point neighbors and the St. RIta’s community.

Arrangements are not yet complete.
