It’s late October and more docks and boats are coming out of the lake every day. Nature can turn on you quickly at this time of year–really nice one day, and then watch-out! The accompanying photo, probably taken in the early 1980s, shows what happened to someone who waited too long. It’s not known what that boat lift looked like when the ice started moving in the spring.
And it’s not uncommon to hear someone’s story about taking the dock out during a November blizzard.
