Yesterday marks the first full day of no ice on Clark Lake in 2015.

first boat ps 2015 04-01It didn’t take long for the first boat to appear and Rob Thomas had camera in hand to capture the moment.  Tuesday also marked the first sunset over an ice-free lake.  This photo (below), taken by Bill Leutz, shows a view of the sunset from the Eagle Point shore.  You’ll notice that the sun is setting to the left of the picture frame.  As we approach summer, the sun will set each night a bit more to the right until it finally reaches its most northerly position to the far right.  There it will remain for a good part of the summer.  But when fall begins to near, the sun starts setting more to the south (left) and that progression is rapid.  It’s the sure sign summer is leaving us, fall is here, and winter is around the corner.  The good news?  Spring is here now and summer is on the way.

Today, the DamCam also revealed that spring is here.  Notice that the boat/raft dock is now in the water.
