Residing in the upper percentile of Clark Lake’s fun quotient is Raft-O-Rama. The people who bring it to you each year are part of the Raft-O-Rama Committee. At least once a year they hold a meeting on, where else, a raft! Putting aside navigational chores to concentrate on the work at hand, they met this evening (Friday 6/10/16) on a raft moored at the Ocean Beach Pier.
Raft-O-Rama 2015 was spectacular. Twenty-seven rafts, decorated creatively around the theme “festivals”, charmed a large flotilla of onlookers on the lake or crowds sitting on docks along shorelines. The theme for 2016 is States. Where could this lead? No doubt to a lot of creativity and inventiveness!
As the sunset at the west end, the committee planned this year’s August 7th event at the east end. Perhaps the sunset and golden light it cast on the proceedings was prescient for 2016.
