The winds weren’t perfect, but otherwise the weather was excellent for day one of the Clark Lake Yacht Club Fall Regatta.  Thirteen boats competed in all three races.  Eight were in the Rebel class and five were Wayfarers.  Due to light winds, all three races were limited to the east end of the lake.  Will that happen again tomorrow?  Somewhat higher winds are in the forecast.  The first race starts at 10 am, and another will follow, depending on conditions.

White sails contrasted against Clark Lake’s deep blue waters could make for a museum quality painting today.  Here’s a look at some of the action.

You can follow the action from the shore, raft or boat.  Here are the competitors listed by sail number.

How does the competition work?  Check out this video.

Before the competition commenced, skippers gathered for a meeting.  Immediately after, both skippers and their crews assembled for this group photo.
