Not deterred by 12 degree weather, brave souls jumped into the icy waters of Clark Lake this morning in support of Special Olympics.  According to the organizer’s website, 206 participants and 31 teams came together for this Michigan Law Enforcement sponsored event at Eagle Point.

The sun was out, BUT the air temperature was barely out of the single digits.  Crews had to cut through four inches of ice and the three inches of snow on top of it to get to the 30 degree water beneath.  As the event approached this morning, the hole in the ice kept trying to refreeze.

Some team names will be familiar to you — the Beach Bar, Consumers Energy, Adrian College, and Columbia Township Fire Department.  To see the entire list click here.
