Work on the Eagle Point lift station has gone on for months.  The long term project included relining the vast sewage wet well and replacing corroded piping–a sometimes smelly and noisy operation.  Today, Consumers Energy crews were installing a gas line to be connected to an emergency generator.  If power goes out, the lift station must continue to operate.  If it doesn’t, the consequences are, just as what passes through the system, unsavory.  In the past, a portable, a diesel generator has stood in during outages.

Before the project is finished, new fencing will be installed around the operation.      Below is a report provided to Columbia Township on sewer work in progress, or completed.
