It was not actually a 40 day and 40 night event–it just seemed like it. After a dry summer, the recent soaking was certainly a change. In September, the rain gauge record 3.75 inches of rain, mostly at the end of the month. And today, October 1st, about one-fourth inch started the new month.
There were breaks in the rain today, and some boats ventured out, including this Hobie.
During the driest part of the summer, this dock horse was out of the water. This photo, taken today, illustrates how that has changed.
Once dark, there was a bit more rain. But the sun peered through long enough for this view of it as the geese took to the air and headed south.
